New Gold Discovery in Burkina Faso

Mining Site

Burkina Faso, Africa’s 4th biggest producer of gold in 2012, gold mining in certain times plays a significant role in Burkina Faso’s economy.

The figures are considered a new discovery of a good site with rich ores that may boost gold production in the next few years and helps narrowing the current gap between gold demand and supply.

Orbis Gold search established new gold mineralized structures at the Tankoro and Bantou prospects in Burkina Faso. Orbis Gold identified 300 meters extensions to the gold mineralization at Bantou. While at Tankoro, gold mineralized structure ores from surface 8 meters at 2.9 grams per ton of gold and 4 meters at 1.65 grams per ton of gold. Rock chip and grab sampling of in‐situ quartz vein mineralization have made a comeback assay values up to 57.80 grams per ton of gold over a 120 meters length and up to 12 meters wide.

The company added there’s implied to enhance mineralization at Tankoro through continuing exploration. While At Bantou, initial assays from the 37 hole drilling program has cleared a 300 meters strike extension with 15 meters at 1.8 grams per ton gold from 26 meters including 3 meters at 6.1 grams per ton of gold and 27 meters at 2.26 grams per ton gold from 60 meters including 4 meters at 6.17 grams per ton gold and 11 meters at 4.35 grams per ton of gold.
