Gold results are high in the Bachelor project at Metanor Inc., Canadian-based gold producer in northern Quebec. The main points stated that over 1.04 meters included 7.90 grams per ton of gold, 11g/t gold from 0.83 meters and 18 g/t gold from 1.52 meters. Metanor Inc. stated “Metanor is very encouraged by the progress realized to date in regards to the production ramp up and development of the its flagship Bachelor project, and by the results obtained in its diamond drilling campaigns,” March total gold production is 2,346 ounces, which made the company’s total since July 2012 is 15,474 ounces.
OceanaGold Corp. in the first quarter of this year produced 67,463 ounces of gold, mostly coming from its New Zealand operation. Mick Wilkes, chief executive officer and managing director of OceanaGold stated “The Company had another strong quarter with steady production from the New Zealand mines and continued success with the ramp up at Didipio,” OceanaGold Corp. says that the New Zealand 2013 operation will make gold production differ throughout the year, especially with a drop down in the second quarter, but will recover in the third quarter. The company sold 58,585 ounces of gold through the quarter at a cost of $687 from New Zealand’s operations. The income before taxes is $47.1 million and the revenue in the first quarter from the New Zealand operation was $65.6 million.
