Japanese investors lost $ 117 billion in mutual funds during the year 2011 due to fallingstock prices in light of the global credit crisis in Europe.

Quoted by the BBC and Japanese television companies of the Association of Japaneseinvestment, the balance of investment funds in the country until the end of Decemberamounted to 46.76 trillion yen to 607 billion dollars, down 11%, the first decline since 3 years.

The association said that the sharp decline of the shares in investment funds led to theloss of a major operation in 2001. She stated that this loss is the third largest loss of its kind in the history of Japan, where she has recorded the biggest loss in 2008, and the second in 1990.
